Bangkok has only 20 beds left for COVID19 critical patients, Somsak Akksilp, chief of the Department of Medical Services said Tuesday. He said the shortage was the result of the continuous rise in the number of new confirmed cases in the capital over the past two months.

As of Monday, 409 out of 429 beds for critically ill COVID-19 patients in Bangkok's public hospitals were occupied, while there were only 300 beds left for moderately ill patients, Somsak said.
